We are so excited to bring a new element to our choir in 2020. Sozo Children is looking for 5 interns to travel with the choir for the duration of their time in the States. This will also include a trip to Uganda to meet them in their homes and bring them back to the U.S. to begin the tour.  Please see details below if you are interested in applying for the internship.


Interns will be an integral part of the choir and will be involved in all daily details during the tour. Duties include being Christ to all you encounter, advocating for Sozo Children, tutoring, holding choir children accountable, loading and unloading the bus and trailer, selling and organizing merchandise, counting inventory, sound and lighting, bus cleaning, making schedules, laundry, preparing lunches, and showing love to host homes and churches we serve. This internship would be great for an early graduate, someone taking a gap year, or in any transition as it is a semester long experience! You will make an everlasting impact on the lives of our children and so many others along the way.



+ Be an advocate for Sozo Children at all times with positive and encouraging attitudes (in host homes, churches, outings, restaurants, etc.)

+ Disciple and love Sozo Choir children in a Christ-like manner, at all times

+ Serve by chaperoning the children in host homes while on tour (will have 2-3 kids each night)

+ Hold children accountable in host homes by staying on schedule, encouraging appropriate food choices, going to bed on time, and following all guidelines

+ Assist teachers during school time by tutoring and maintaining learning environment

+ Carry out assigned duties while children are performing before and after event

+ Be present at all times by being Spiritual role models helping with devotion and prayer times


+ Must be able to commit to Sozo Children from December 27, 2019 - May 19, 2020

+ Must be available to travel to Uganda on December 27, 2019 to meet the children, do on-ground training, and fly with them back to the U.S.

+ Raise financial support for your flight to Uganda

+ Be a follower of Jesus Christ

+ Must be “all in” and seek to glorify God in consistent servanthood

+ Must be a servant leader of at least 20 years of age.

Is there an age range for the internship?

Yes, Sozo Children’s Choir interns must be 20 years or older.

Do I have to be a college student to be an intern?

We prefer applicants who have completed their freshman year in college before the tour starts.

Do I have to be an intern for the entire tour?

Yes please! We need to have consistency the entire tour with interns and leaders to help the children have stability while in the U.S.

Do I need to fundraise for this internship?

Yes, the money needed to fundraise is approximately $3,000 for the mission trip to meet the children and bring them back to the U.S. to begin tour.

Do I need to have vaccinations or meds for the trip to Uganda?

Yes, we will help you with all that is needed. It is required to have the Yellow Fever vaccine and we recommend you get the Typhoid, Hep A & B, and updated Tetanus, as well. Also, you will need to take malaria meds while in Uganda.

Can I get college credit for this internship?

If your school will accept an internship with our organization for credit, we would be more than happy to do everything on our end to make sure you receive credit.

Will I get a day off every week while on tour?

Yes, each week you will have a designated day to be off. You will still be with your hosts and on tour, but will have time for yourself that entire day.
