Run for a Reason at Sozo Children's 3rd Annual Adventure Race
3rd Annual Waging War on Normal Adventure Race
The third annual Sozo Children Adventure Run for Orphans is planned for April 13, 2014. This year we have partnered with Waging War on Normal to bring our runners the best possible adventure run experience! The theme of this event is “Run for a Reason.” 100% of the proceeds raised by this adventure run will be used to “sozo” (save or rescue) vulnerable orphans in Uganda, East Africa.
In 2014, we are hoping to purchase 75 acres of land in Kampala, Uganda to begin building “the Sozo Village” which will consist of 28 children’s homes, a church, medical clinic and school. Funds raised at the Waging War on Normal Adventure Run for Orphans will be dedicated to purchasing this land.
While we are thrilled you are joining our mission by running in April – but we would also like to ask: What’s your reason? Let us know by using the hash tag: #myreason as you help us promote this event on social media leading up to the run. Tag @sozochildren on social media.
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED! The Waging War on Normal Adventure Run for Orphans is in search of community partners who want to support the goals of the event and also take advantage of this outstanding promotional opportunity. This highly publicized signature event provides meaningful investment for sponsors and donors. We are expecting as many as 1,000 participants from competitive athletes to just-for-fun runners and young children in attendance at our April 2014 event.
You are invited to take advantage of this exceptional advertising and promotional opportunity as a sponsor participant. Expose your business through website exposure, email marketing, t-shirts, banenrs, and much more by sponsoring the 2014 Waging War on Normal Adventure Run for Orphans.
The details of the sponsorship benefits are outlined in a packet we can mail or email to you. Please consider joining with us to make this worthwhile community event a success. Please submit the enclosed Sponsorship Letter of Agreement by March 3rd, 2014 to make sure you reach our press deadline.
Shoes for the Shoeless
A shoe collection will also take place before and after the Adventure Run. The shoes will be used to give relief to the victims of abject suffering and to support micro-business efforts to eradicate poverty in the villages near Sozo Children.

On this Sunday, we are all gathering to race in Chelsea, Alabama at 1:00pm.
The race for orphans is not only in Alabama, but sweeping across the nation. For those who are out-of-town and can't make the event, you can register as an "out-of-towner", map and run your own 5K in your own city to raise awareness for orphaned children. We send you a t-shirt and you post a picture of you running with #myreason to show your reason and support of Sozo Children's work around the globe. Each state is highlighted in orange if a runner is committed to run in that state!
If you have a friend out of town willing to give and run, send them this link and encourage them to register!
Listen people, if Hawaii can run for orphans, we expect to see the rest of the U.S. of A. lit up as well.
