MARY TATE THOMAS
In 2012, God began a wonderful work in my family through Sozo Children. My dad felt called to visit Uganda in the fall of 2012 and fell in love after his first trip. The following summer, he returned but this time with my mom and me. Long story short, our lives were changed forever. Since then, I have returned to Uganda every summer and once in December. I have since built life-long relationships, and I now have a second family in Africa.
About your trip
On this trip, team members will have the opportunity to experience all the work Sozo Children is a part of in Uganda. This trip is designed for you to experience not only the amazing work God is doing in Uganda but also to grow in your relationship with Him throughout the week! You can look forward to traveling into the village to host our kid’s club, participating in nightly devotion, ministering in the village, and countless other meaningful experiences. This trip will be marked by significant relationships with our Sozo kids, staff, and community. We are confident once you experience this incredible country and the people in it you will feel so connected you’ll have to return in the future!
We believe a day of rest is much needed for your time in Uganda. This team will get to experience the beauty of this country on a day we call the “Day in Creation”. This team will be traveling to Jinja, the source of the Nile River where you will have the opportunity to bunjee jump (if you choose to do so), take a boat ride on the Nile, and eat at a great local café! If you choose to bunjee jump, Sozo Children will not claim liability nor pay for the experience, however, you are more than welcome to jump! This is such an exhilarating and memorable experience for our team members.
