meet your Leader


Ron graduated from Mars Hill College with a degree in International Business. Before Sozo began, Suzanne and Ron were working with youth at their church, teaching and serving through missions. The couple helped launch two young men to Uganda as missionaries and from that trip Sozo Children began. Faith and trusting in God became more than words on a page. Ron joined in March of 2017 as the Village Project Director, overseeing the construction of the village.

About your trip

On this trip, team members will have the opportunity to experience all the work Sozo Children is a part of in Uganda. This trip is designed for you to experience not only the amazing work God is doing in Uganda but also to grow in your relationship with Him throughout the week! You can look forward to traveling into the village to host our kid’s club, participating in nightly devotion, ministering in the village, and countless other meaningful experiences. This trip will be marked by significant relationships with our Sozo kids, staff, and community. We are confident once you experience this incredible country and the people in it you will feel so connected you’ll have to return in the future!

Join us in Uganda for an alternative Spring Break! Instead of spending the week at the beach, travel to this beautiful country as you meet amazing people from around the world. This trip will be a great time to meet new friends and experience a life changing opportunity together. 

We believe a day of rest is much needed for your time in Uganda. This team will get to experience the beauty of this country on a day we call the “Day in Creation”. Your team will embark on an incredible safari experience at Lake Mburo National Park! You will see many African animals as you are taken on a guided game drive and boat ride. You can also look forward to stops at the equator and an African drum making shop! This is an incredible opportunity you will hold onto for the rest of your life!

Trip cost includes airfare, food, lodging, excursion, transportation and visa.
Souvenirs and personal airport expenses are not included. Note: Only these airports
are included in the total trip cost: ATL, BOS, DTW, IAH, LAX, MSP, JFK. An
additional $250 will be added to the trip cost for all other airports.

**Late and Last Minute registrations are required to meet all remaining payment
and document deadlines. If a deadline has passed at the time of registration, the
team member is required to meet that deadline within 7 days of registering.
